P.J.J.G. (Pier) Nabuurs, Chairman of the Executive Board     
 
Pier Nabuurs studied electrical engineering and graduated in telecommunications from Eindhoven Technical University. During many years, he held positions in the management positions at Philips and Océ. In January 2002, he became Chief Executive Officer of KEMA. Pier is a former chairman of the Advisory Council for the Technology Platform SmartGrids in the EU. He is member of the Dutch Advisory Committee for Large Research Infrastructures, member of the Board of the Knowledge Platform Electromagnetic Fields and Health, and member of the Board of Syntens, a Dutch governmental organization for advise to SME’s on innovation. Pier is married and has three daughters.

Th. (Thijs) Aarten,  Member of the Executive Board   

Thijs Aarten graduated from Delft University (The Netherlands) in 1980. After his military service, Thijs started his professional career in 1981 where he subsequently worked for various companies of Royal Dutch Shell, Royal Pakhoed/Vopak, Shell Global Solutions, and – since May 2006 – KEMA. Thijs has worked and lived in the Netherlands, Singapore, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and China and he now has his office in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Thijs is married and has one daughter and three sons.
